AutoSync — Privacy
I'm an indie dev. I make AutoSync alone (under the name Koirala Studio). This page exists because Apple and privacy laws want one.
Short version
No account. No ads. I don't sell your data. Your video stays on your iPhone. The only thing that leaves the device for processing is the audio used for transcription (and subscription verification if you buy Pro).
What stays on your device
Imported clips, transcripts, caption styles, settings, and exports live in AutoSync's sandboxed storage on your phone. Delete the app and that local data is gone. iPhone backups may include it — that's Apple's backup, not mine.
What leaves your device
Transcription. When you caption a clip, AutoSync extracts the audio and sends it to a transcription service I run (Cloud Run) so words can be timed. The request is for that purpose only. I don't use your audio to build a profile or sell it. Video is not uploaded for transcription.
Subscriptions. If you subscribe to Pro, Apple handles payment and RevenueCat helps verify the purchase — they get a random ID and purchase info, not your name or card.
What I don't collect
- Your name, email, or an account login (there's no account).
- Your location, contacts, or HealthKit data.
- Anything used to track you across other apps or websites.
Permissions
Photos / library access — so you can pick a video to caption. AutoSync does not upload your photo library; only the audio extracted from the clip you choose is sent for transcription.
What Apple sees on its own
When you download AutoSync, Apple processes your App Store account, the download, and any crash reports you choose to share. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
Kids
AutoSync isn't designed for or directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
