Burnless — Privacy
I'm an indie dev. I make Burnless alone (under the name Koirala Studio). This page exists because Apple and privacy laws want one.
Short version
No account. No ads. No server I run that stores your sun sessions. UV comes from Apple Weather. Profiles and timers stay on your iPhone.
What stays on your device
Skin type / profiles, sun sessions, sunscreen notes, saved places, preferences, and history live in Burnless's on-device store (including an App Group so the widget and Live Activity can update on the same phone). Delete the app and that local data is gone (your own backups may still include it).
What leaves your device
Weather & location. To show live UV, Burnless uses your location (rounded for the forecast) with Apple WeatherKit. Apple processes that request under Apple's privacy terms — see apple.com/legal/privacy. Place names may use Apple Maps reverse geocoding.
Subscriptions. If you buy Sun Pro, Apple handles payment and RevenueCat helps verify the purchase — they get a random ID and purchase info, not your sessions or location history.
Permissions
- Location — for UV at your place (or a place you pick). You can deny it and use a saved place instead when available.
- Notifications — optional high-UV alerts, reapply reminders, and trial reminders if you turn them on.
What I don't collect
- Your name, email, or an account login (there's no account).
- Contacts, photos, microphone, or HealthKit data.
- Anything used to track you across other apps for advertising.
I don't sell data.
Kids
Burnless isn't designed for or directed at children under 13. Family profiles on one phone are for people you choose to track locally — I don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
