Orrery — Privacy

Last updated: August 2026

I'm an indie dev. I make Orrery alone (under the name Koirala Studio). This page exists because Apple and privacy laws want one.

Short version

I don't sell your data or run ads. Orrery needs your birth details to calculate and show today's influences. That data is used only to run the app — not to build marketing profiles.

What you provide

To show personalized influences, Orrery asks for your birth date, birth time, and birth location (and may store preferences or an account identifier if you sign in). Transit and interpretation results may be cached so the app can load faster.

What leaves your device

Astrology calculations. Birth details and the date you request are sent to a backend so planetary positions and aspects can be computed (for example via an ephemeris service). Without that, the visualization can't run.

Interpretations. Structured aspect data may be sent to an AI text service to generate plain-language and visual metaphors. That output is for in-app display — not sold as training data by me.

Subscriptions. If you subscribe, Apple handles payment and RevenueCat helps verify the purchase — they get a random ID and purchase info, not your birth chart.

What I don't collect

I don't sell personal data.

Permissions

Location — only if you use it to set a birth place (for example searching or confirming a city). Continuous background location is not required for the core experience.

Notifications — optional, if you turn on reminders about today's influences.

What Apple sees on its own

When you download Orrery, Apple processes your App Store account, the download, and any crash reports you choose to share. See apple.com/legal/privacy.

Kids

Orrery isn't designed for or directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
