Privacy Policy
Koirala Studio ("we", "us", "the studio") makes iOS apps. This policy explains what data those apps collect and how it is handled. It applies to all apps published under Koirala Studio on the Apple App Store, except where a specific app provides its own additional notice.
The short version
Our apps are designed to work entirely on your device. We do not run servers that store your personal data. We do not embed third-party analytics SDKs that profile you. Information you create inside an app — tasks, notes, photos, recordings, journal entries — stays on your device unless you choose to export it.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, address, or any government identifier.
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not collect your contacts, photos, calendar, or health records.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not sell, rent, or share data with advertisers.
If a specific app needs access to one of these (for example, a future app that uses location), it will request that permission on your device through iOS, and that app's listing on the App Store will disclose it. Even then, the data stays on your device unless that specific app's own notice clearly says otherwise.
What stays on your device
Anything you enter, create, or record in our apps — task lists, notes, photos taken inside the app, audio recordings, settings, history — is stored locally on your iPhone. Removing the app removes that data. Backing up your iPhone via Apple's iCloud Backup or a local backup includes this data, but that is Apple's backup, not ours.
What Apple collects on its own
When you download or use an app, Apple processes information related to your App Store account, downloads, and (if you opt in) crash reports. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours. We may receive aggregate, non-identifying information from Apple — for example, total install counts or crash logs you have explicitly shared — but never information that personally identifies you.
Subscriptions and in-app purchases
Some apps offer subscriptions or one-time purchases through the App Store. Apple processes the payment. We do not receive your credit card information or billing address.
To manage subscriptions efficiently across multiple apps, we use a third-party service called RevenueCat (operated by RevenueCat, Inc.) for subscription receipt validation and analytics. RevenueCat receives an anonymized identifier generated for the subscription, the App Store transaction details Apple sends, and the country code from the App Store. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or any directly identifying information from us. Their privacy practices are described at revenuecat.com/privacy. This applies only to apps that offer subscriptions; apps without subscriptions do not use RevenueCat.
How to contact us about your privacy
You can email support@koirala.studio at any time to ask what data we hold (for almost every app, the answer is: none, all of it is on your device). You can ask us to delete anything we may hold; we will respond within 30 days.
Children's privacy
Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to one of our apps, please email support@koirala.studio and we will investigate.
Your rights under Canadian law (PIPEDA)
Koirala Studio operates from Ontario, Canada. The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies to our handling of personal information. You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you (typically: none)
- Request correction of any personal information we hold
- Request deletion of any personal information we hold
- Withdraw any consent you have previously given
If you are not satisfied with our handling of a privacy concern, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Quebec users (Law 25)
If you are a resident of Quebec, you have additional rights under Quebec's Act to modernize legislative provisions respecting the protection of personal information (Law 25). These include the right to data portability and the right to be forgotten. To exercise these rights, contact support@koirala.studio. The Privacy Officer for Koirala Studio is reachable at the same address.
Users in the European Economic Area (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, GDPR / UK GDPR may apply to limited information processed via Apple and RevenueCat. Our lawful basis is the performance of a contract (delivering the app you purchased) and our legitimate interest in maintaining the apps. You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, and complaint by emailing support@koirala.studio.
Users in California (CCPA / CPRA)
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA. California residents have rights of access and deletion, exercisable by contacting support@koirala.studio.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where the change affects an existing user's data, we will surface a notice in the relevant app. Continued use of an app after a policy change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
